WWI Kicks Off…With An Epic Rap Battle

July 1, 2014

This week marks the passing of an entire century since Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, an event that ultimately culminated in World War I.  Many have used the occasion to sombrely reflect on the utility of force and the need for cooler heads to prevail in times of uncertainty, lest the mistakes of the past repeat themselves.

Or, if you’re the BBC, you could have an Epic Rap Battle.  Enjoy.  (Bonus: look out for my mate @RayBullockJnr who plays King George V.)

Kathleen J. McInnis is a PhD candidate at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London and a Research Consultant at Chatham House.  She served as a Pentagon strategist from 2006-2009.  She is the editor of the WOTR series, Art of War.
