War-Art Challenge: The Next Great War
War on the Rocks has partnered with the Atlantic Council’s Art of Future Warfare project, which seeks to use “war-art” challenges to showcase the value of creative thinking in the national security realm and to gain insight into the future of warfare. The best of these works will be prominently featured on the project’s website and included in an electronically published volume produced by the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security in the summer of 2015. This volume will be tentatively titledWar Stories from the 21st Century and Beyond and will include other visual media and graphic arts.
The Art of Future Warfare project’s first challenge seeks journalistic written accounts akin to a front-page news story describing the outbreak of a future great-power conflict.The historical creative cues included below are intended to inspire, not bound, creativity.
