After a political firestorm broke out last week with President Zelensky's highly unpopular decision to remove Mykhailo Fedorov as Minister of Defense, the president also fired Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi. Zelensky's decision to fire General Syrskyi, along with his choice for his replacement, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, was highly popular among Ukrainians, especially among active duty troops.
