Last week, at talks in Qatar, U.S. officials presented what they called a “bridging proposal” to Israeli and Hamas officials in an attempt to reach a ceasefire deal in Gaza. Despite optimism from Biden administration officials, Israel and Hamas have yet to agree to a deal and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has returned to the United States. Here to tell us more about the talks and the deal is Khaled Elgindy, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute where he also directs the Program on Palestine and Israeli-Palestinian Affairs.
