Episode Notes:
Russia’s war against Ukraine has already cost thousands of lives and upended international politics. The crisis has also raised concerns about global food security. Combined, Russia and Ukraine account for roughly 25 percent of global wheat exports, and experts are concerned that the war will push already high food prices even higher and destabilize countries around the world that rely on imports to feed their populations.
To discuss the implications of the war in Ukraine on global food security, we’re joined today on the Warcast by Caitlin Welsh. Caitlin is the director of the Global Food Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
