Episode Notes:

The sudden collapse of the Afghan government and military surprised even some of the most seasoned analysts of Afghanistan. To help give us some perspective on what happened and what the United States should learn from this experience, we’re joined on the Warcast by Candace Rondeaux.

Candace directs the Future Frontlines program at New America and is a professor at the Center on the Future of War at Arizona State University. She served as a strategic adviser to the U.S. Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction. Candace also spent five years living and working in Afghanistan where she served as South Asia bureau chief for the Washington Post and as senior analyst on Afghanistan for the International Crisis Group.
