Turkey and the Nagorno-Karabakh War

October 16, 2020

Episode Notes:

The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh has entered its third week. Turkey has sided with Azerbaijan and has emerged as perhaps the key regional power not directly involved in combat operations.

Dr. Ryan Gingeras — professor in the Department of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School, expert on Turkish history, and author most recently of Eternal Dawn: Turkey in the Age of Atatürk — joins the Warcast to discuss Turkey’s approach to the ongoing crisis in the South Caucasus. Ryan’s views reflect his opinions and not those of the Department of Defense.
