A high-profile meeting featuring Afghan leaders and Taliban representatives just wrapped up in Qatar in a bid to end the 18-year Afghanistan war. The talks occurred with the backdrop of military violence including most recently a gruesome explosion carried out by the Taliban, killing at least 14 people.
