Episode Notes:

Chancellor Friedrich Merz has taken full advantage of Germany's "Zeitenwende" that set to alter Germany's culture of military restraint, announcing tranches of military and defense innovation reforms, more generous spending targets, and more. German Bundestag member and retired Bundeswehr colonel Roderick Kiesewetter says it's not enough; there is ultimately a lack of urgency and political willingness to actually achieve Merz's words of making Germany's military the strongest conventional force in Europe. Kiesewetter joins Nicole for a wide-ranging, yet detailed conversation about what Germany can do to meet the threats of the time, including those lesser discussed in national strategy documents.
