Wilson Grossman-Trawick's recent article for War on the Rocks challenges the prominent belief in South Korea's political and defense spheres that building a nuclear submarine is worth the cost. While Seoul certainly could achieve this prestigious feat, he questions whether nuclear submarines are worth the investment of talent, time, and money, as well as whether they're even the right capability to deter and defend a North Korean or Chinese threat.
