Nick sat down with Nate Schenkkan, author of "How Syria Broke Turkey," which was published on September 5. Nate is the senior director of research at Freedom House, leading Freedom House’s work on countering authoritarianism. He has written widely and testified in Congress on Turkey and U.S.-Turkish relations. At Freedom House, he previously served as director for special research, as project director for the annual report Nations in Transit, and as a senior program officer for Eurasia programs.
