Episode Notes:
A historic election took place in Zimbabwe last week, when the country voted in the first elections since Robert Mugabe was removed from office last year. To talk about the election and the unrest that has followed it, WOTR Managing Editor Usha Sahay checked in with Mark Bellamy, who wrote about the stakes of the election for War on the Rocks a few days before Zimbabweans went to the polls. Mark has served as principal deputy assistant secretary of state for Africa and U.S. Ambassador to Kenya. He's currently the Warburg Professor of International Relations at Simmons College in Boston and senior adviser for Africa at CSIS.
