Announcing “Strategic Outpost”

I am proud to announce the first regular, featured column at War on the Rocks. “Strategic Outpost,” by Lt. General David W. Barno, US Army (Ret.) and Dr. Nora Bensahel will run every other Tuesday. It will examine and provide fresh insights into the constantly evolving security threats of the 21st century. How should the United States and its allies adapt to provide for their common defense in this new era? This will be the overarching question that “Strategic Outpost” at War on the Rocks will address.

General Barno is a Distinguished Practitioner in Residence and Dr. Bensahel is a Distinguished Scholar in Residence – both at the School of International Service at American University. They are uniquely positioned to provide rich and informed commentary on the strategic issues that concern us so at War on the Rocks.
