China’s Communist Party Congress is Coming. What Does it Mean?
Every five year's the Chinese Communist Party has a congress. It is watched closely by the Chinese nation as well as China-watchers around the globe to understand which factions are winning out, what major decisions are being made, who is getting what important job, and -- more broadly -- what direction the People's Republic of China will take. Joshua Eisenman of UT-Austin's LBJ School and the American Foreign Policy Council had Ryan Evans over to his office to chat about what the 19th Party Congress, which starts next month, might hold for China and the world. It was a really interesting, wide-ranging conversation and we hope you enjoy it.
