Conflicts in Kurdistan

April 22, 2022

Episode Notes:

The last week has seen violent developments across several of the countries that Kurds, willingly or not, call home. In Iraq, Turkey has launched renewed military operations. In Turkey, a bus was bombed in the city of Bursa. Finally, in northeast Syria, the offices of an Iraqi-linked Kurdish political party were attacked.

Joining us to explain how all this fits together is Amberin Zaman. Amberin is a senior correspondent for Al-Monitor covering the Middle East and Europe. She has previously covered Kurdish and regional politics for The Washington Post, The Daily Telegraph, The Los Angeles Times, The Voice of America, and The Economist, among others.
