Feeding off Each Other: Islamists and the Far Right
Right-wing extremists are in the news again after Charlottesville. And Islamist terrorists are in the news again after Barcelona. But these problems cannot be viewed in isolation. Julia Ebner spoke to Ryan Evans about how far right groups and Islamists validate each others' narratives and effectively serve as "rhetorical allies." Addressing these different problems require governments to be more consistent than they are in how they tackle extremism. Ebner is the author if The RageL The Vicious Circle of Islamist and Far Right Extremism (IB Tauris), which comes out next year. She is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue in London. (There is some minor audio interference in this episode and we apologize).
