A Very Turkish Visit to Washington
Turkish President Erdogan visited the United States. During his trip, his security detail severely assaulted protesters outside an event sponsored by the Atlantic Council, bringing a sample of Turkey's domestic authoritarianism and turmoil to the streets of Washington, DC. And Erdogan seems to have left Washington without any public concessions on the Syrian Civil War and Kurdish militants who are leading the ground war against the Islamic State.
